Blake Bromley is an authority on Canadian charity law. As Principal of Benefic Lawyers, his practice relates almost exclusively to charitable, estate and tax planning matters. Blake has incorporated and registered well over 600 registered charities and non-profit organizations.
Blake is globally recognized as an expert on the comparative laws of charity and regularly advises charities and donors operating around the world on tax and legal issues, specifically the international transfer and utilization of charitable funds, as well as on matters of corporate control, strategy and structure. He has advised governments in China, Russia, Vietnam, Australia, England, South Africa and Eastern Europe on drafting their laws governing rights and tax privileges of social organizations. Currently, Blake is the lead foreign consultant to the government of China in its effort to draft the country’s first law of charity.
Blake and his wife, Marion, reside in Vancouver and they have three grown children, Kathryn, John and Serena.
