KBNF Mission Trip – Liberia (post 18)
Our visit to Liberia was very encouraging. This post civil war country is being restored largely by women.
The President of Liberia is Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and she is 76 and just begun her second four-year term in office. She was voted in by 92% of the country. She has managed to get Liberian Americans to return to Liberia to help restore the country. She says there is no time to lose, that the window of opportunity is now.
We were her guests and stayed on her compound in the Presidential Guesthouse. She came to visit us one evening and we had lengthy discussions on the state of affairs and what is of priority and how we could partner with them in advancing neuroscience care.
