KBNF Mission Trip – Sierra Leone (post 8)
Princess Christian Hospital is the major obstetrics hospital for the country. Women experiencing difficulties in labour and delivery go there, often too late to save their lives. The obstetrician has dedicated his life to his people and served them faithfully for over 30 years. He is most eager to advance the skills of his staff and is looking forward to our chart documentation program coming to their institution.
They are in desperate need of equipment and supplies and manage as best as they can; however, many mothers and babies tragically die needlessly, waiting too long to come to hospital. A few baby items I had with me made their way to the moms.
